For the exterior main panels and bottom, you can use any type of bag-making fabric such as canvas, vinyl, or cotton. For the fap, lighter materials like thin vinyl or cotton are recommended. For the lining, I suggest cotton fabric. In addition you need fusible fleece, medium-weight interfacing, and optional light-weight interfacing.

With a depth of 6.5 cm to 10 cm (2 1/2″–3 7/8″), a width of 30 cm (11 3/4″), and a height of 26.5 cm (10 3/8″), Melody is perfectly sized for everyday use – compact, spacious, and stylish at the same time.

The bag closes with a flap that not only adds a stylish touch but also doubles as a zippered compartment — perfect for storing small essentials. Beneath the flap, a zipper keeps the main compartment securely closed.

A special highlight is the adjustable bottom which allows you to adjust the bag’s depth depending on how much space you need. On the back, you’ll find another zipper pocket, while the interior features both a zipper pocket and a slip pocket to keep everything organized.

The step-by-step instructions include over 180 detailed photos, guiding you safely through every stage of the sewing process. This project is perfect for advanced sewists – but ambitious beginners with a bit of patience will also be able to achieve great results with the detailed instructions.
